TOA: more help please - Director and promised land

I'm going to crack up soon if I can't finish this game!
The nerds want me to find the energy cells to get them to the promised land

I've tried talking to Chris who won't help, to all the professers (already finished all the tasks) and to the Jocks. Silus and Verma are watching the bus and everytime I get on it the director says I've forgotten something (I have the gas and the rope)

Do I have to get the nerds to the promised land first? If so how?
