633.    issues with plagiarism

I replied and asked for specifics, as I really had (and have) no idea what alleged book excerpts this person was talking about. I never got a reply. In any case, this person obviously doesn't understand the concept of plagiarism very well, as neither the age of the material nor the existence of credit are relevant. If an excerpt of a book is clearly understood to be an excerpt and not original material, it may or may not be a copyright violation, but it certainly isn't plagiarism.

I guess the most likely thing this person is referencing is the part of Fantasy Quest II where you can read books in the tower. The excerpts are short enough to constitute fair use, but I believe they all come from public domain works anyhow.
