Shadows Over Chinatown has an intriguing mystery, one that 20th Century Fox might have done well in Charlie Chan's heyday. Although Chan fans will probably still find something entertaining about this latter day episode, it's bogged down by clues that fall into Chan's lap, a predictable solution to the mystery, a low budget, and, last and worst, an extreme overdose of slapstick and goofing around on the part of Jimmy Chan and Birmingham Brown.
