Charlie Chan At the Circus (1936)

Reviews and Comments

"Curiosity responsible for cat needing nine lives."

A death occurs inside a locked trailer at a circus. Charlie Chan (Warner Oland, the best of the Chans) and his number one son (Keye Luke) suspect foul play. There's more than the usual fine detective work in this entry, but the solution is unbelievable.

For trivia buffs, this film provides a rare look at the whole of Charlie's large family ("fourteen, including humble self") -- but don't expect to see Victor Sen Yung, who wouldn't play Chan's number two son Jimmy until 1939's Charlie Chan In Honolulu.
