King Solomon's Mines (1950)

Reviews and Comments

Though tame by today's standards, the 1950 version of H. Rider Haggard's first novel has a lot to offer. Stewart Granger and Deborah Kerr (as Allan Quatermain and Elizabeth O'Brien) turn in excellent performances and work together well. It's a well-done character piece, concentrating more on the relationships of the characters than the quest to find Elizabeth's missing husband.
