611. Horrible testTo: dave@rinkworks.com, sam@rinkworks.com Subject: Horrible test Date: Wed, 3 Feb 2010 06:13:38 -0800 (PST) Hello, I have read hundreds of fantasy novels (Tolken LOTR, the hobbit, Lewis CoN, Almost every dragonlance, WoT and other TOR novels, Sword of Truth, and many many more.) and I just wanted to tell you that your test is horrible and completely inaccurate. I have read numerious best sellers with a lot of the components that you happen to think make for a bad fantasy story. For example I would like to quote question 39 - Does your novel contain orcs, elves, dwarves, or halflings? Why does having orcs, elves, dwarves, or halflings in a novel instantly make it a bad novel? Since when does a FANTASY novel have to be comprised of lets say, just humans or some such bull****(sorry to use such crude terms, but lets face it, whoever wrote this test is full of bs.) I just wanted to let you know that your "fantasy novel test" could potentially disuade someone who could be writing the next best seller from even continuing their work. Frankly, I think whoever wrote this test is a biggot and has no taste what so ever. Yours truly, Rob P.S. You have permanently lost what could have been a potential customer by your vindictive attitude towards some of the greatest pieces of literature over the last century. P.P.S. Your test discourages people from even attempting to write any form of fantasy literature, and that personally disgusts me. I encourage you to respond, as I would love to understand why you feel it's okay to insult some of the greatest literature of the last hundred years. Thank you for your time. After I explained that the exam was a work of humor, this guy apologized. Most don't. |
