Stuck near beginning of FQ1

I have been wondering around a bit and cannot figure out what to do next.

I have

Sack
Silver Coin
Carrot
Rope
Branch
Silver Key
Sword
Shovel
Hammer
Nails
Bow
Arrow

Any suggestions? I get the feeling there is more to the cave than I realise, but I can't seem to get anywhere. Hints please...
