POA - those damn caverns

I have searched through all previous posts but not for the life of me can I catch the cart.

I can do it in ten moves but unless I go south first once I enter the caverns I cannot even leave the pitch black cavern via the west - the option isn'y there. If I go SE first I cannot find the exit!!

Also, people mentioned opening the third barrier from bot sides, I don't know if I have done this or not yet.

Hope you can help.
