Ok I understand the concepts (I hope!). I think I've grasped the connections, try it and you've guessed it I'm wrong - didn't get it.
I think the biggest problem is 1 E+W.
I've tried using the junctions before and after, using a combination of alternate N, S, inner and outer and I just can't do it. I've got the basic map as given; my dots are large circles and I've got all the information going in and out so I can see what I need to do. Believe you me, guys, I've tried.
The absolutely worse aspect is that when you try out a method the control room techs, don't tell you where it's wrong, just that it is, so the infuriating part is that you can't even wing it, you really have to know it. If only they could say "hey you've missed a connection at 1E+W", then I could try something different, although I think I'm running out of combinations!
I guess what I'm trying to say, without using really bad language is that I'm completely and utterly frustrated by this puzzle.
Oh, well back to the drawing board!!
