After plane crashes, you always here stories of people that delayed or missed their flight for some incredibly trivial reason, which ended up saving their life.

I've not heard any of these yet, for this disaster (though a few people have said they didn't go to work because they overslept, or some such), but I think it's the first time I've heard the reverse of this story: CNN commentator Barbara Olson was scheduled to fly from Washington to LA on Monday, but delayed her flight until Tuesday so she could have breakfast with her husband, as it was his birthday.

I can't imagine what it must have been like for him to find out.
