There's a REASON we're called the Garden State after all; we grow some of the best corn and tomatoes--perhaps among other things--in the US. Besides that, most of the region's suburban/rural without being too backwoods. It's rather nice here, and I'm quite happy with it.

North Jersey has a bad reputation. At any given time, you'll see only two or three piles of burning tires -- not one unending wall of them like most people believe. The sky isn't *that* yellowish or brownish. It's actually quite breathable, in small doses. Not every Italian-American out here is connected to the Mafia. Well, at least not the Russian Mafia. Also, despite the logical assumption that anyone can get a New Jersey driver's license simply by buying one at a 7-11, that's not true.

You have to go to Sears.
