America was founded mostly by the British. There were a few little colonies like New Netherlands (later New York,) and Canada which was both French and Swedish, (and of course, isn't even American). But most of colonial America was British. Georgia was not started by Turks, nor was North Carolina Japanese.

>It was established that this land was the freedom people sought and the land of opportunity.

Can't argue with that. Although I think that was written cause it sounded nice. Kinda like the whole "All men are created equal" line. No they aren't. But it sounds nice.

>Today we kill at our borders to keep from illegal immigrants from coming over,

No we don't.

>we pay taxes to support the deportation of immigrants.

I bet lots of countries do that.

>We favor not to allow immigrants, even legal ones to come into our country.

History lesson time. America has NEVER, eeeeeeever really truly loved immigrants. When the Irish first started coming over here in droves, they were scorned worse than anybody except African-Americans. There were two huge migrations of Irish sometime in the 1840s and at the turn of the 20th century, and the Irish were absolutely hated. I believe the same happened with Germans later (although there may have been a reason for that...), then it was Asians, and now our problem is with Mexicans. I don't defend this as being right, but it is the way America has always been.

>I need a standing. I personally believe that the united states should be free to any person coming over without over exhausting requirements used to dissuade or dismiss them from any attempts or opportunities of becoming a citizen.

It used to be, way back when Kentucky was considered the frontier and there was somewhere for people to go. But America is no longer the land of free land, and with our government putting more and more of it off limits to its citizens, we will eventually run out of room. I think our primary concern should be space for our countries own internal growth, and then worry about immigrants.

>Since even my family was immigrants from poland, who gained citizenship rather easily "ship" in the later 1800's. Where do you stand?

My entire family is composed of immigrants. We showed up, gosh, I'm not even sure when, but I think it was around the same time as yours. My mother's side is Polish and my dad's side is German, Swedish, and English. But times are different. We can't just bring people in by the truckload and expect to find room for them and our own citizens.
