Congratulations from a non-Christian that has a bit of knowledge of religion!

Indeed, religion may not solve all real-life problems but can answer to many questions about ourselves.
As the phylosophist Giordano Bruno exposed in his theories (in the 16th century - he was then sentenced to death as an heretic by the Chuch), God is an entity that "lives" inside everyone, being or not that one prepared or willing to accept God himself. This opens an interesting question: may anyone be a Christian without even realizing it?

Congratulations again,
AP.

P.S.
Who knows well me and tries to classify my thoughts about religion, usually clashes into a conflict between my phylosophycal points of view, my interest for the Christian Church and my left-oriented political and social opinions (often the need to answer by myself to all questions that everyday life raises in front of me, results in a research that opens more question for every answer I happen to find).
