It was great to look at this scene frame-by-frame, because the staginess of it became all the more apparent. Look, for example, at the wall behind Sinbad in frame 8. It's obvious that's not really rock but rather a blanket or two with rock texture painted on. It's even more obvious in the spot where the rock monster breaks away from the wall. See the "Yes, we must indeed" panel in the previous strip.
