Last and weakest of the Margaret Rutherford Miss Marple mysteries of the sixties, Murder Ahoy lapses too far on occasion into the "Super Marple" character these movies made Miss Marple out to be. (A swordfight at the end, for instance, unquestionably crosses the line.) Still, there's enjoyment to be had out of this mystery peppered here and there with light humor.
Stringer Davis, Rutherford's real-life husband, retired after making this film.
