RinkWorks was born on December 8, 1997. When it opened on that date, it was composed of the previously existing stand-alone feature At-A-Glance Film Reviews, the new web-based format of the previously text-only Apogee/3D Realms FAQ, plus the new features Book-A-Minute SF/F and The Filmmaker's Exam. Two others were listed as coming soon: The Everett Kaser Software FAQ and Computer Stupidities. At the time, I remember thinking it would be nice if there were more features, but I was mildly dubious about how many more ideas I'd have that I'd want to pursue. Obviously that changed.
