From: Samuel Stoddard <sam@rinkworks.com> Subject: Re: Rinkworks Date: Wed, 26 Aug 2009 10:32:46 -0400 > I will make you an op... Just kidding! I asked you repeatedly to stop talking about that. It was a funny joke at first, and we had our fun, but you kept pushing it after I asked you to stop. You did stop later, but then you were kind of spamming the chat with things that didn't make sense. Asking people why they were typing? I didn't want to ban you. You seem like a nice kid, and I love that you enjoy the RinkWorks site. The chat room, though, is an established community of adults. And although kids are welcome, everybody has to understand the proper social behavior for participating in the RinkChat community. Would you walk into the teacher's lounge in your school and start saying, "Make me a teacher! I want to be a teacher! Hello? Why aren't you saying anything?" Of course not. If you were ever in the teacher's lounge at school, you would understand the kind of behavior you're supposed to have there. Online chat rooms are hard, though, because it's not obvious what kind of behavior is called for. One chat room looks just the same as another. If one chat room has lots of kids having an online party or something, and another chat room has a totally different kind of people having a totally different kind of discussion...well, it's harder to tell the difference than it is in real life, right? Understanding that difference, and the kind of behavior necessary in different situations, is something that you will get better at as you get older. There's nothing wrong with you, that you don't seem to understand that now. Like I said, you seem like a nice guy. I just don't think RinkChat is the best place for you at this point in your life. Why do you want to hang around with a bunch of stuffy old people, anyway? Right? Anyway, I don't think I can explain it any better than that. I hope you understand. If not, perhaps you will in time. Again, I'm delighted that you enjoy RinkWorks and hope that you continue to. Take care. -- Sam. To: Samuel Stoddard <sam@rinkworks.com> Subject: Re: Rinkworks Date: Wed, 26 Aug 2009 12:00:00 -0700 I was typing nonsense because I was eating a grilled cheese and I got grease on my iPod, so I could not type properly. Also, I asked "why are you typing" to the girl whose name starts with an m (I forget her name) because I said apparently she was away, and she said I am away, and then I asked why she was typing if she was away. Then goosey asked me to stop talking nonsense, then I was about to say that my ipod was greasey, when you banned me.
