LOL i read it and it is so true and so correct for all the people who think
they have an amazing idea for a fantasy...
now bare with me as i talk to you concerning writing a fantasy novel, for i
have been working on what i am assuming will be a series for about a year
and a half now that i have been very excited about and as you seem to have
specific ideals as to what an "original" or "worthwhile" fantasy book is i
would like to ask you exactly what it is you want to see in a book because i
am honestly working hard on it and i personally think it is quite original
as i have worked this 1 and a half year just trying simply to separate it
from any other book... i do not have places such as "the blasted lands"
whatever books those were aparently in but i do have "the forbidden world"
which is its current name and i have thought about changing into a name
given to it from the ancients (the first inhabitants of the earth)... i have
been working hard to actually create a language for the ancients... culture
for every race including religious and political beliefs and the personal
believes of each individual character...

lets just say i am putting alot of time into it to make it as what i deem
"done right"  as if i am going to take my time expressing an idea i have
formulated i want it to be expressed correctly through my words...
my protagonist is around the age 21-23 partially cause that is my age... but
also because that is the age where you are physically around your peak... i
could make it 25... while yes he has blood elf within him he is not a
"half-elf" and he is not fighting as to which bloodline to follow... i have
something backing every turn in the book... i wish i could actually discuss
the actual idea... but i cannot as i really would like to keep my idea to
myself until release...

i passed the test up to the series (as i am predicting that it will take
about 4 books each ranging around the size of the LoTR series) and the
partial elf (but there is a twist to it which leads me to believe i can get
away with it and their is backing as to why the main character needed
the elfin bloodline in order to complete his powers as his ancestors were
filled with a volatile power which eventually led to their distruction)...
their is also in the book a piece of mail armor which was created from the
scales of a dragon, worn by the only arkassion (it has to do with an ancient
race long story wish i could tell you) to ever walk this earth.. this mail
armor is magical but their is alot to that as well.. ( i cant give you
specifics as i am holding tight to my ideas because i dont want to lose
them) but i can tell you that this item will not save or destroy the world..
it has its limitations and since the story takes place 1200 years after it
was created... its not even discussed until the barer of it shows he is
wearing it as no one even really knows it exhists.. main character is simply
searching for power and fears only loosing power... he sits in his throne
proclaiming that he has brought about a new world order, a Utopia... yet he
ravages the earths surface with wars in the search for power... if i were to
throw a story about an item that were able to destroy the world it would be
a false item (like the fountain of youth) where the antagonist searches
vainly for an item that does not exhist....

i guess what i am trying to say is i would love to hear more if you can give
more.. i want to hear what exactly it is you are looking for in a book... i
have asked about 50 other ppl this question and my story almost perfectly
met their criteria and expectations... ive shared my story with about 5-6
ppl who are huge fantasy fans claiming LoTR and the shannara series among
the best stating that mine could easily be the next BIG fantasy hit as long
as i take my time to build and perfect the idea and fill all the holes and
gaps in the plot and story... any help you can give me would be much
appreciated.... thank you in advance for taking some time to read this
