Posted By: Tofu_Ninja, on host 69.243.102.247 Date: Wednesday, February 15, 2006, at 18:16:29 I have an idea. This game takes ten years after MR. The player can choose between a boy or a girl, choose to learn this hero stuff while playing the game or train at an acadamy at the begining. The story is Murkon takes the Govener of Perrin's daughter, Alice, because when Murkon was alive, the Govener promised Alice's hand in marrige. The player must not only create their character, but must have other characters join the party, learn skills- such as Flurry, summon monsters, learn new spells- such as Hellfire, and ride a horse with certain classes, such as the new class Palidin. This game will have a live chat system similar to RinkChat, and break the rules by making new ones. Murkon has Alice hostage. Will you save her or die trying? Only playing the game will give you your answer! Subject: Re: Idea for new role playing game for RinkWorks! It will also have new classes- such as the axe-wielding Ranger and the sword swinging Wizard, and incorperate a new level of tatics. The player will also command armies of Orcs, Goblins, Elves, Dwarves, and more. I just gave you the tip o' de iceberg of a game that can go beyond that of a normal text game. I'm getting rid of some of MR's features, such as the clinc and reaplacing it with a hospital where players will not only heal, but get some rest while being cured of any plauging elements. But what is it, then? My questions were honest ones -- > I'm just interested to learn more about your ideas. Skills can be learned at certain levels. But if you choose to go to the acadamy, you learn Skills instantly at the begining of the game. Skills require a certain amount of Skill Points, which are used to preform Skills. ALL classes can learn Skills, and there are four Skill Types: Swordmanship Axemanship Archery Magic S(wordmanship) and A(xemanship) are required for Two-hand-combat, a Skill that allows you to wield two melee weapons at the same time. Ar(chery) and M(agic) are required for Flaming Shot, a Skill that increases your ranged damage. M is required for Sorcery, a Skill that (slightly) decreases the target's (enemy's) magic resistence. Ar is required for Ballistics, a Skill that (slightly) decreases the target's ranged resistence. B(allistics) and So(rcery) are required for Great Shot, a powerful ranged Skill. 2HC branches into Longsword and Battle Axe, both Skills that increase your melee damage. L(ongsword) and B(attle) A(xe) are required for Flurry, a Skill that allows you to unleash a powerful melee attack, multiplying your damage to your target. The game sounds like much, I know, but I think that, with the right tools, I can make it. Hey Sam, could you give me some pointers on making a text game? Posted By: Tofu_Ninja, on host 69.243.102.247 Date: Saturday, February 25, 2006, at 19:40:46 I'm having another idea You've rescued Alice. You win, right? WRONG! Be prepared to enter... "Murkon's Temple"! This game takes place after "Murkon's Quest" (which was my other game idea) and Alice, being the damesel she is, gets lost in Murkon's crypt. MT will offer much more of the story *SPOILER WARNING!* surrounding Valk, the girl who join's your party in Port Hydrio. *SPOILER WARNING!* This will also unveil the shadows around Rico, the level 5 Ranger you have join your party. *MORE SPOILERS!* Janus, that lvl 4 Mage you pick up in Geograph, will get much stronger, as will you and the rest of your party. *NO MORE SPOILERS!* The story is the same: rescue damesel, convince said damesel to marry you (if you're a boy!), and live happy. But Murkon steps in to turn your quest upsidedown... literaly! MQ's features are still here, but there are new skills, monsters, spells, weapons, and more.
