Could you do me a favour and correct the following sentences: 1."In a Chechoslovakian tourist agency:Take one of our horse-driven city tours.We guarantee no miscarriages" (Do they actually want to guarantee that people will get to the right place or that they will get there safely?) 2. "Outside a Paris dress shop: Dresses for street walking" (Should it be for everyday walking...?) 3."In a Leipzig elevator: Do not enter lift backwards and only when lit up" 4. " In an Australian hotel catering to skiers: Not to perambulate the corridors during the hours of repose in the boots of ascension" (Should boots of ascension be simply ski boots?) Yvonne As if The Language Barrier section of Things People Said weren't illuminating enough about how easy it is to miscommunicate, here's a guy that wants to take badly translated English and convey the humor of the resulting misunderstandings into Polish. It's just got to be a lost cause. |
