You need to solder one pair of wires together, and twist another two. There's a choice of two red wires to join to the positive cable... you -join- these, not twist.

The second pair, you do twist. There's only two battery cables to choose between, so that narrows your choices down. You just need to try combinations until you get it. There are only two logical combinations, if you make an educated guess. Oh, and you don't need to know what 'solenoid' means. How else is that wire described?
