 I'd guess it's a Space Ghost reference.  I'm not a huge fan of Space Ghost (though I watch the talk-show version whenever I see it on), so I don't get the particular reference, but there is an evil giant praying mantis named Zorak.  In the original cartoon, he was one of Space Ghost's (Space Ghost being a super cheesy super hero) enemies.  On Space Ghost's current show (where SG is a talk-show host and very funny) Zorak is SG's rather captive sidekick.
