Don't know what you're typing in for the answer, but my reasoning (what little there might be of it) came up with this: a mediocre grade in academic terms is [?]. A bonnie love is presumably female, Bonnie usually being a girl's name. Then the two letters that sound out -- you're looking for something that will form an actual sentence. You should realize it if you sound it out.
The catch is that the word noted in the hint isn't the one to use -- there are instructions as to how to find the right answer in the same hint or clue.
