Thing is, I've been back and forth from the gardens and forest a bunch and have been unable to find another coin (I thought I had already found one in each location). I've already gotten a coin as change and the boat is smashed. Do I, in fact, need another coin, or do I need to do something else?

Waitaminit. The boat is SMASHED? Already? And you don't have the Yuckyuck leaves across the water and the coin buried beside them? How on earth did you pull that off?
*scratches head* The boat SHOULDN'T collapse until you've gone across the water and gotten the Yuckyuck leaves and the gold coin buried in the meadow by the leaves. Aside from THAT coin, the only three left are the one in the forest, the garden, and as change from the shopkeeper.
Game bug? I don't know. I'm stumped.
