It's by Sharon, Lois, and Bram. The aforementioned were a fairly popular children's group when I was growing up. They were the stars of "The Elephant Show" (among others), and that is indeed where the song was originally used.

I always hated it, but, then, I'm a hopeless grouch. ;-}
