I have been wandering around for hours but can't figure out what I have to do with the apples and the magnifying glass.

Here is my inventory:

Guard's Sword

6 Apples
Tinderbox

Maybe I'm missing something? Oh yeah, I tied the rope around the battlement by the locked door.
