It's not only you... it's just that other people don't bother telling everyone else what happened to them. That's not a criticism =) don't take it the wrong way.

I keep getting paralysed. It's a pain in the ... backside ... and soon, it will be a ROYAL pain. (I made a pun! I made a pun!) Far lot of use all those Wizard spells are, how do I AWAKE or RESURRECT myself?!

Never mind that, how come Murkon has so many hit points? From the backstory, all he is is a snivelling, traitorous, cowardly, backstabbing, weak First Mage. To that King guy who we aren't working for. I wish I had a job that paid 100 million bucks for retrieving what I imagine looks like a tiara. I wouldn't even mind dying a few dozen times, as long as the clinic would always resurrect me. =)
