And all because the Daily Mail were depending on a much larger degree of public grief to shift a lot more papers but found out that we had been pretty much expecting the old dear to pop her clogs any day and weren't particularily surprised (and hence didn't buy the special "Nation wails and gnashes its teeth" issue).

So what do they do? They start bashing away at the BBC (who the DM editor isn't exactly a fan of anyway) over the colour of a tie. Thing is, though, its just too transparent a ploy and the rock-bottom credibility they had has just sunk even lower.

What really disturbs me is that people actually still buy the Daily Mail.
