The gnome doesn't eat carrots, but he does enjoy other things. Vampires don't just die from sunlight. Allegedly, they can die other ways too. Fantasy Quest impliments one of these. As for the boat, I don't think it lets you leave unless you've gotten all the stuff you need. I don't really remember, but I'm pretty sure about that. I know they make these games so it's impossible to get stuck. As for the rest of your questions, bring 'em on!
