Forget about reading the database. It makes something rather easy sound a lot more difficult.

You need to draw a grid of 6 x 2 (6 down, 2 across). The right column is E, the left is W. Label each of the rows 01, 06, etc. Mark N at the top, and S at the bottom. The gap between the two rows is the outer parallel. The inner parallel is to the left of the E column, and right of the W column.

Now go outside in your ship, and draw on your bit of paper which conduits are connected to each other. Mark with a dotted line or something which conduits (or links or whatever they're called) are broken.

Now, try to join up _all_ of the conduits, leaving out the broken, er, links.

Afterwards, write down which direction each one needs (e.g. 01E: N Inner - or whatever it is).

Adjust each conduit, and there you are! *fingers crossed*
