First of all, calm down. Getting excited won't help anything.
Second, the wraith can be killed by a combination of dodging and attacking with your sword. It isn't hard. Right behind him is a monster who's MUCH harder.
Third, don't wash up at home. What else can you do at the sleepy warrior's house?
Fourth, you'll find a lot of things easier if you sell everything you can to the old woman in the market.
