 This jogged a memory of mine.  I knew someone who would say, "I'll be back in a couple-few hours."  Whether that meant that he'd be back in two hours or a half-dozen hours, nobody knew.  I concluded that the best thing was to assume that he meant, "I'll be back in a couple-times-a-few hours."  I always thought the phrase was extremely odd and annoying, but maybe it was a geographic thing.  This individual spent most of his later childhood and young adult life in Virginia, so maybe it's an East Coast thing?
