I go to the gym five times a week. (When I met Dave, I told him I'd have a "hardbody" by the end of the summer. And I meant it.)

Anyway, when I work out, I am on complete autopilot. My mind is absolutely apart from my body.

I was on the treadmill, going about four mph, when I dropped my towel. I stooped to pick it up. MISTAKE #1. I went flying off the conveyor belt.

I managed to stay on my feet, and affected an attitude of "I meant to do that." Then I hopped back onto the still-moving treadmill. MISTAKE #2.

I nearly did a faceplant. But I grabbed the handles, and almost kept my purposeful attitude, except for my stumbling.

Anyway, I felt pretty stupid. I started laughing when I finally got control of the treadmill again, which only attracted more attention.
