If Germany wants more wasps, they could always import them from abroad. I know the idea of getting rid of a load of them would be popular in Britain, and probably everywhere else.

There used to be a wasps' nest in my bedroom wall. During the summer when they were active, we settled for sealing the entrances to it in my room and putting an open jar of insecticde outside the outside entrances (does that make sense? Good.). This was somewhere you needed to get a 10 foot ladder to reach, so while it was illegal to leave the poison lying around, it was safe enough to do. Come winter, when the wasps were inactive, we had the remains of the nest professionally exterminated. I forget how.
