In my elementary school, writing in print was *very* frowned upon by the teachers... naturally, everyone tried to print as much as they could except for me, Miss Goody-goody :}.  I never was that good with any writing to begin with, because I lacked the patience to do the little trace-the-letters sheets.  I think that I figured that since I knew what the letters looked like, there wasn't much of a point in practicing.  Anyways, my cursive is degenerate, and my printing is sort of messy, but more legible.  An eighth-grade teacher commented that my handwriting looks like a boy's and suggested that I print.  Now I can barely remember how to make cursive letters.  It's a shame, since I like writing with pens... but since I type so much, it doesn't bother me as much as it would if I lived 150 years ago :}
