  No its not silly.
If I got stuck (writers block) and couldn't work out how to write a particular sentence on an English essay for school, I would jot down some notes on what I would like to say, and then sleep on it...then halfway through the night I would (usually) wake up suddenly with the perfect way of writing that sentence. So I usually kept a pen and the draft essay next to my bed so when that happened I had something to jot down on...I also kept the draft there so I would be able to find it again in the morning!!! (I have a happen of putting things in "Safe Places")
Thats also probably why I didn't do so well in the 3 hour English exam at the end of High school...because I couldn't form up any really good sentences...all my really good sentences that would earn the good marks came from when I was asleep.
