Though it bears no relation I know of to any specific role playing game, "The Dungeonmaster," even just by the title, is obviously inspired by role playing. Bad plotless role playing, I might add, in which players fight some monsters and kill the boss at the end. That's literally all there was to "The Dungeonmaster": a tape-recorded series of fights with gloppy monsters, followed by the disposal of the boss badguy at the end.
