Well... I'm a fan of streetcar/railways systems; one of my best friends is an Engineer that works in the public transports field (actually he's into a team of designers for the new extensions to the Milan Airports); we both worked as consultants for the Milan Public Transports Authorities and the Italian Railways.

Of course we collected (through articles, reviews, Internet sites) a lot of documentation about worldwide streetcar/trolleybus/railway systems.
We're also building a collection of photographs and technical data about Italian transit systems (at http://digilander.iol.it/tram2000 , the main page has a link to the English version).

By the way: San Francisco runs a "vintages" streetcar line on which you can see an Italian trolley: it's an orange, sleek "Peter Witt" type car marked "1834".
