Everybody mentions it because of two main reasons. Sluggy has been around for over three years and Pete puts out a daily strip, including a full-color Sunday strip.

Unfortunately, Pete likes complex storylines, so it's nearly impossible for someone to come in and start reading with the daily strip. He has a good solution -- a well designed reader guide. The guide is broken down like an annotated table of contents. If you're a first time reader, you should go there and be able to jump to the start of a storyline.
