I've been collecting the state quarters too, and I have to say, I didn't like the New Hampshire one at all.
If you don't know about the Old Man of the Mountain -- and I didn't -- you'll have a tough time figuring out what the heck that image on the quarter even *is*. Eventually I guessed that it was a mountain that looked a little bit like a face, and as I understand it, that's about right. But it doesn't make for a very attractive quarter, in my opinion. D-.

 Of the others:

Massachusetts -- not very specifically effective, since that seems to be just a general soldier. C+.

Connecticut -- probably my favorite so far. Yeah, it's just a simple spreading oak, but it's very nice looking. A.

Pennsylvania -- in a state with the Liberty Bell and so many other great potential images, I feel they coulda done better. Kinda dull. C.

New Jersey -- hard to criticize the image of Washington Crossing the Delaware, which is probably why they picked it. Still, been there, seen that. B.

Maryland -- simple, nicely symmetrically balanced, attractive. Very nice. A-.

Delaware -- a nice striking image of the "horse and rider" token from Monopoly. :-) No, actually, I rather like this one as well. B+.

South Carolina -- my original home state, so I can tell you this much: the Carolina wren is one ugly little bird. As state symbols go, it's not a real winner. So although this is a boring "state symbols superimposed over the state outline" quarter (like MA, PA, and GA), any image that can make that dreadful little bird look good gets my vote. B.

Georgia -- my current home state. A peach? Sheesh. Very uninspired. D.
