1. The scariest movie I have ever seen is Halloween. I saw it at a young age, and it scared the you-know-what out of me.

2. The movie that was supposed to be scary, but wasn't was The Hitcher. For the longest time, my girlfriend touted it as the all time scariest movie because "it could really happen". I watched it, and no it couldn't. The Hitcher is a prime candidate for IABBBBM. Why, you ask? Well, here's one example.

Rutger Hauer (the evil hitchhiker) is shoved out of a moving car being driven by our hero (C. Thomas Howell). I think the C. stands for "C how stupid this movie is". This happens at night. Cut to daylight and we see RH *still* lying on the road. Cut to CTH driving along feeling generally happy with himself. Next shot: RH in the backseat of a beat-up station wagon pulling alongside and passing CTH.

What the producers wanted us to think: AHHHH! The evil hitchhiker is back!!! AHHHH!!!

What that scene really makes you think: AHHHH!!! There are no laws of physics in this world!!! Station wagons are apparently equipped with warp drive!! Turn it off!!! Now!!! AHHHHH!!!

We also get to see RH fire about 58 rounds from a 4-shell shotgun without reloading, but that's another story.
