 Yes; how could you do this, Sam?  Of course there were refrigerators in medieval times.  They even had fridges in *prehistoric* times!  They just weren't the diesel/propane/electricity-powered types that we know and love, which use a compressed gas refrigerant to cool down the food contents.  Honestly, I'm terribly disappointed by this turn of events. *sniffle*
