I apologize for dissing a show that you like without even giving it a few episodes to establish itself, but my wife and I found the pilot episode to be so unbearably corny, we turned to some other channel after about half an hour. Reasons:

 * Special effects were a mixed bag. There were lots and lots of cool explosions, but I was underwhelmed by the appearance of the alien and robotic characters. The "ant-woman's" head didn't look a bit like a living creature to me; I hoped it would turn out to be just a weird helmet.

 * The dialogue & delivery, especially in exchanges between Sorbo as Captain (Somebody) and his mutineering first officer, was pretty canned.

 * The overuse of slow-motion in the fight scenes, so you don't miss even one thrill-packed frame of Kevin Sorbo engaging in athletic martial-arts fighting. After a few minutes of slo-mo, they *did* give some kind of reason why reality itself was slowing or shifting as they made their way into the black hole, but still, it was just too much.

 * What's up with the female avatar representing a warship, adhering to the Baywatch dress code?

Maybe I should have watched the second half, I don't know. Somebody please tell me if I didn't give it enough of a chance.
