Just figured I'd put my two cents in.

I started to read when I was 2 1/2. I wrote a five-page story--outside of school--when I was 7 or 8. Last year, I got 800 on the verbal section of the SAT. (I missed a couple of questions, actually, but those apparently didn't count...) You can probably tell that I am of the same opinion as most of the others here: The sooner a child starts to learn, the better.
