I am having trouble getting back into Larosis. Tried three different gates. Is there something I need to do or find first?

Diving Mask
Pick
Life Preserver
Dead Fish
Broken Free Trial Sword of Failing
Ticket
Stone of Strengthening
Bucket
Magic Armor of Magic
Key of Questioning
Food Rations
Rope
