I, too, enjoy a good zombie movie. So here's my Top 6:

1. Dawn of the Dead (1978, not to be confused with the flat 2004 remake)

OK, there you go. There are all the great zombie movies. I guess if you want you can throw in the original Night of the Living Dead (1968) but otherwise zombie movies pretty much suck. Even the good ones are just sort of tolerable in a goofy sort of way. (Obviously I'm not on the 28 Days Later bandwagon.)

And I'm with you on wanting a serialized zombie show on HBO. The problem is just that most zombie movies are made for the usual drive-in horror crowd and are just sort of mindless gore fests.
