Reviews and Comments

Usually amusing, moderately well made romantic comedy has Boy meeting Girl on a radio show. They arrange to meet, but Girl is too insecure about her appearance to make the date. Through a convenient mishap, Boy meets More Attractive Girl, thinking she is Original Girl. The contrived premise is skillfully executed such that, while you'll still marvel at the scenario's improbability, you won't disbelieve it. Problem is, around the one hour mark, one gets the feeling the writers ran out of ways to play with the idea and have resorted to just filling time. The end picks up slightly, but holds no surprises. The film's biggest asset is Janeane Garofalo, whose screen presence and charisma go a long way in involving the audience in the story.
