Reviews and Comments

This Robert Louis Stevenson adaptation is decent light entertainment. William Powell is his usual charismatic self, and he's got some pleasantly insightful lines to boot. In fact, the film is a little too light and pleasant, treating some of the pivotal dramatic plot points with humor. Tender, harmless, amiable, but Stevenson's story, which relies heavily on coincidence, hardly compares with his masterpieces.
