"We're bad."

One of Gene Wilder and Richard Pryor's funniest comedies, this prison film, directed by Sidney Poitier, is often riotous, yet still manages to build to an intriguing and suspenseful finale. At times, one can't help feeling the story is a set-up for Wilder and Pryor to ham it up, but that's part of the fun. Many of the scenes were improvised as they were being filmed -- the infamous "we're bad" scene is one.
