Pleasant, frequently amusing comedy starring Douglas Fairbanks Sr. The comic energy here is zany and ridiculous, faltering occasionally but working much more often than not. The film was made prior to the Hays Code; some edgy zingersslip in under the radar that would have been stifled just a few years earlier. But it "feels" clean, and it's certainly gentle. They don't make them like this anymore. Watch for Bing Crosby in an early singing appearance. Another thing to watch for: note how Fairbanks, famous for his stunt work in silent swashbucklers, works in some of his famous acrobatics, even though this is a pretty straight romantic comedy.
